Planning a visit to Rajarani Temple
The one major monument in the old town with no deity, no queue and no restriction on who may enter — which makes it the easiest temple in Bhubaneswar to actually stand and look at. It sits alone on a wide lawn, so you can walk a full circuit and take in the whole building, something the crowded Lingaraj complex never allows. Give it the late afternoon: the sandstone it is named for only does its trick in low sun.
